AIR FRYER DEHYDRATED STRAWBERRIES

AIR FRYER DEHYDRATED STRAWBERRIES

These simple dehydrated strawberries from the air fryer are great as a topping for muesli, cereal, ice cream and smoothies, among many other dishes!

For air-fried strawberries, you only need one ingredient. Yes, that’s right—fresh strawberries! The secret is to thinly slice them and air fry them until they have a leather-like texture. To ensure you have sweet, dehydrated strawberries for all your favourite snacks, make huge batches.

DIRECTIONS FOR DEHYDRATING STRAWBERRY IN AN AIR FRYER

  1. The air fryer should first be preheated for five minutes at the lowest temperature feasible. While I am aware that some air fryers can only reach temperatures of 200 degrees Fahrenheit, mine can reach as low as 180 degrees.
  2. Strawberries should be cleaned, the stems removed, and the fruit sliced into thin, 1/8-inch-thick slices. Use paper towels to pat them dry.
  3. After inserting the slices, cook them for an hour at 180–200 degrees Fahrenheit in the air fryer. After thirty minutes, turn them over.
  4. When the dehydrated strawberries have the consistency of leather, take them out of the air fryer.
  5. Savour them as a garnish for your preferred morning meals or snacks!

To start the dehydration process, slice the strawberries and put them in the air fryer.

PURPOSE CAN I USE THEM?

  • Cereal with Muesli
  • Drinks
  • Donuts
  • Granola
  • Ice Cream
  • Trail Mix

STORING ADVICE

After air-frying, dried strawberries can be kept at 60 degrees Fahrenheit for up to a year in an airtight container. It is advisable to periodically inspect them for condensation. To fully dehydrate them, put them back into the air fryer if you notice any condensation inside the container. Around six months is how long they will last at 80 degrees F.

NOTES FOR RECIPE

  • A few air fryers are limited to a temperature of 200 degrees F. Should this apply to you, remember to check on the dehydrated strawberries after around 45 minutes.
  • Cut the strawberries into pieces that are about 1/8 of an inch thick. To guarantee they cook at the same time, cut them as evenly as you can.
  • Working in batches might be necessary, depending on how big your air fryer is. Avoid packing the air fryer too full.
