Ingredients For Air Fryer Pheasant:
- 2 pheasants whole, with 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- Bouquet Garni, 1 teaspoon
- One teaspoon of thyme
- One teaspoon of parsley
- One teaspoon of air fryer Dehydrated Garlic
- 1 tsp salt and pepper
- An air-fried dried onion
Instructions For Air Fryer Pheasant:
- Transfer the seasonings into a small ramekin or similar container and thoroughly stir using a fork.
- You will need about one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil for each pheasant you rub over the visible skin. After that, rub the seasonings in so that they adhere to the oil.
- Pack the pheasants (side by side) into the air fryer basket. Air fry at 160 degrees Celsius for 15 minutes. Then, flip them over and cook for an additional 15 minutes at 150 degrees Celsius, or breast side down.
- Before slicing, let the pheasants rest, then serve them with your preferred air fryer sides, of course.
Notes Dimensions.
- As much as possible, try to have the pheasants’ sizes as similar to one another. Since one shouldn’t be ready any faster than the other. We air-fried two pheasants totaling 705g/1.55lbs and 590g/1.3lbs. The fact that there was only 115g—roughly a quarter of a pound—between them didn’t seem like a huge deal to me.
- Verify. Before I begin preparing my pheasants for air frying, I always make sure they fit by placing the entire bird inside the air fryer in its original packaging.
Which Pheasant Cooking Method Is Best?
- Similar to other birds (I’m talking about you, turkey and duck), cooking a full pheasant can easily make you dry and unappealing.
- For this reason, it’s crucial that you choose a cooking technique that doesn’t get too hot. Examples of effective cooking methods include slow cooking, cooking in an instant pot or other pressure cooker, and air frying at a reduced temperature.
- But whatever you do, DO NOT cook a full pheasant or comparable bird at a high temperature (like 200°C/400°F) for the entire duration.
How Should Pheasants Be Air-Fried?
- The greatest approach to air fry pheasant is to follow the same procedure you use to air fry chicken.
- This involves air-frying the pheasant on low and then cooking it on both sides to ensure uniform cooking and prevent any drying out on one side.
- Making a pheasant flavorful and moist is your major objective when cooking it, and the air fryer makes it simple to achieve.
