INSTRUCTIONS FOR AIR FRYER POTATOES AND ONIONS:

  • Dice the potatoes and onions. Cut them however you choose. I cubed potatoes to a thickness of about one inch. Moreover, cut onions into ¼-inch slices.
  • Combine the potatoes, onions, oil, and seasoning in a medium-sized bowl, mixing everything together.
  • Toss the potatoes and onions to coat with the spice.
  • Set the air fryer to 375F/190C right now.
  • Place the potatoes and onion in a single layer in the air fryer basket or tray.
  • To ensure that they cook uniformly on all sides, air fry them for 10 to 15 minutes, tossing them every five minutes. For the final five minutes of cooking, add chopped fresh rosemary, to taste.
  • Fry them until the colour and crispiness that you prefer.

NOTES: ADVICE AND DIFFERENCES FOR AIR FRYER ONIONS AND POTATOES

  • Seasoning: Feel free to add your preferred blend of oregano, salt, and a dash of red chilli.
  • This side dish pairs beautifully with Italian spice. If you want extra flavour and texture, you may also add a small amount of brown sugar.
  • Overcrowding your fryer basket could result in uneven cooking of your potatoes and onions. The vegetables will soften, but they might not get crunchy and caramelised.
  • Cook together: You can also prepare your preferred food simultaneously in the same basket. All you have to do is put your meal—such as chicken, fish, or steak chops—in the basket and surround it with potatoes and onions. Your entire meal will be served to you simultaneously. Remember to flip halfway.

WHY ONIONS AND POTATOES IN AN AIR FRYER?

  • Although they may be fried or cooked on the stovetop, I like to make them in the air fryer for a few reasons.
  • Ready in a matter of minutes: Cooking in an air fryer requires less oil and takes only 12 to 15 minutes. On the hob, pan-frying potatoes and onions may require at least 30 minutes; it also requires a lot of oil, which is unhealthy.
  • Mess-free: You don’t have to clean up the extra oil splatters that scatter across the hob when using an air fryer to cook. After the cycle is over and the air fryer cools down, all you have to do is clean the basket.
  • Tasty: Pan-fried potatoes and onions are not inferior to those cooked in an air fryer.

APPETISERS FOR AIR FRYER POTATOES AND ONIONS:

  • They go well with a variety of dishes, including pierogies, steaks, burgers, curries and shrimp.
  • This half is enjoyable on its own. Simply drizzle your preferred dipping sauce or sauce over it and dig in.

STORING TIPS FOR FRIED ONIONS AND POTATOES: USE THEM IN OTHER RECIPES:

  • They will keep for three to five days in the refrigerator if you store them in an airtight container or zip lock bag. Reheat them to 380F for three minutes. Remember that while the onions are delicious and freshly cooked, they might not stay crispy.
  • Potatoes and onions from your air fryer can be used in a variety of recipes, including:
  1. Prepare rice with potatoes and onions.
  2. In soups, use air-fried potatoes and onions.
  3. Add some spices and tomatoes to make a curry with potatoes and onions. Pour gravy over bread and serve.
  4. Mash them and experiment with different seasonings to make packed bread filling.
