AIR FRYER SHRIMP

Lemon and pepper are used to season this air fryer prawn recipe, making it a tasty, quick and simple supper option!

This recipe for air-fried prawns is low-carb and keto-friendly by accident, but it doesn’t sacrifice flavour.

I liken it to grilled prawns because it quickly cooks fresh prawns and consistently produces deliciously juicy prawns

PREP TIME: 5 minutes
COOK TIME: 8 minutes
TOTAL TIME: 13 minutes

COMPOSITION

  1. One medium raw prawn, peeled and deveined, weighing one pound
  2. half a cup of olive oil
  3. two tsp lemon juice
  4. One tsp black pepper
  5. Half a teaspoon of salt

Instructions:

  1. Set the temperature of your air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Put the prawns, lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper in a Ziploc bag. Mix all components together with care.
  3. Place a single layer of raw prawns inside the air fryer and cover with parchment paper, if using.
  4. Cook, shaking the basket halfway through, for about 8 minutes. When the prawns become a vibrant pink colour while remaining somewhat white and somewhat opaque, they are done.
  5. Enjoy the prawns after taking them out of the air fryer!

SHRIMP REHEATING IN AN AIR FRYER:

  1. Set your air fryer’s temperature to 350 degrees.
  2.  Put the prawns in the air fryer and heat them for two to three minutes.
  3.  Take out of the air fryer the prawns and serve!

FROZEN RAW SHRIMP COOKING IN AN AIR FRYER:

  1. Set your air fryer’s temperature to 400 degrees.
  2.  Add frozen raw prawns to the air fryer and cook, shaking the basket halfway through, for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Take out of the air fryer the prawns and serve!

Cook for approximately five minutes in the air fryer, or until well heated, if using precooked frozen prawns.
