AIR FRYER UPSIDE DOWN PUFF PASTRY TART
Air fryer upside-down tarts are a tasty and simple recipe! This tasty and entertaining culinary trend from TikTok went viral and was modified for the air fryer. Flaky, puffy, golden brown treats are made by combining sweet or savoury ingredients with puff pastry.
INGREDIENTS
- 1 sheet puff pastry
- 4 peaches
- 6 teaspoons honey
- 1 egg
INSTRUCTIONS
-
Thaw puff pastry according to the package directions and then cut into 6 rectangles.
-
Pit the peaches and slice into slices ¼ inch thick.
-
Cut and place parchment to fit your air fryer.
-
Drizzle 1 teaspoon honey for each tart (note: I can do 2 tarts at a time in my air fryer).
-
Place and layer the peach slices over the honey. Add the puff pastry over the peaches and press into the sides to form a border.
-
Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush over the top of the puff pastry.
-
Air fry at 350 degrees F for 10 minutes. Open air fryer basket and carefully flip the tarts over. Air fry for another 5 minutes.
-
Plate and enjoy.
NOTES
- You can serve tarts warm or at room temperature.
- Make sure to allow space for the puff pastry in your air fryer and space your tarts correctly.
- The way each air fryer cooks varies. Verify that your tart is browning nicely without burning.
- Vegetables and fruits may need to cook at different times. It can be advisable to precook some ingredients before adding them to a tart.
- Keep in mind that the overall amount of time needed to cook will depend on how many tarts your air fryer can hold at once. My air fryer could hold two at once.
