Ingredients
For the Meatloaf
500g ground chicken
250g ground beef (optional for richer flavor)
1 cup breadcrumbs
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 small onion (finely chopped)
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp salt
½ tsp black pepper
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme or oregano
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Filling
6–8 slices chicken ham or beef ham
1–1½ cups shredded mozzarella or Swiss cheese
For the Dijon Gravy
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups chicken broth
1 tbsp Dijon mustard
½ cup cream (optional but recommended)
Salt & pepper to taste
Instructions
1. Prepare Meat Mixture
In a large bowl, combine chicken, beef (if using), breadcrumbs, egg, milk, onion, garlic, and seasonings.
Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
2. Shape & Fill
Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).
Line a baking tray or loaf pan.
Spread half the meat mixture into a flat rectangle.
Layer ham slices and cheese in the center.
Top with remaining meat mixture and seal edges well.
3. Bake
Bake for 55–65 minutes until cooked through.
Internal temperature: 74°C (165°F).
Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
4. Make Dijon Gravy
Melt butter in a pan over medium heat.
Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes.
Gradually add chicken broth while whisking.
Stir in Dijon mustard and cream.
Simmer until thick and smooth.
Season with salt and pepper.
