Soft, fluffy garlic butter flatbread that’s cooked in a skillet and ready in minutes. Perfect with curries, soups, dips, or as a side for almost any meal.

🥗 Ingredients

For the Flatbread Dough

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • ¾ cup warm water

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

For the Garlic Butter

  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

  • Pinch of salt


👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the Dough

In a mixing bowl combine:

  • flour

  • salt

  • sugar

  • baking powder

Mix well.

Add:

  • warm water

  • olive oil

Mix until a soft dough forms.


2️⃣ Knead the Dough

Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface.

Knead for 3–4 minutes until smooth.


3️⃣ Rest the Dough

Cover the dough with a clean towel and let it rest for 15 minutes.
This makes the flatbread softer.


4️⃣ Divide and Roll

Divide the dough into 6 equal pieces.

Roll each piece into a thin circle or oval about 6–7 inches wide.


5️⃣ Cook the Flatbread

Heat a skillet or pan over medium-high heat.

Place one flatbread in the pan and cook for 1–2 minutes per side until:

  • golden brown

  • slightly puffed

Repeat with remaining dough.


6️⃣ Make Garlic Butter

Mix together:

  • melted butter

  • minced garlic

  • parsley

  • pinch of salt

Brush the warm flatbreads generously with the garlic butter.
