Ingredients

For the Chicken:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, diced (about 1 lb)

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

For the Pasta:

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 (28 oz) can crushed tomatoes

2 cups low-sodium chicken broth

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

2 cups uncooked penne or rotini pasta

½ teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Cheese:

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

¼ cup chopped fresh basil (or 1 teaspoon dried basil)

Instructions

1. Cook the Chicken:

1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.

2. Add diced chicken, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.

3. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until chicken is browned (it doesn’t need to be fully cooked yet).

4. Remove chicken from the pot and set aside.
