Pistachio crusted fried brie with honey and cranberry

Pistachio-Crusted Fried Brie with Honey & Cranberry

A warm, melty round of brie coated in crushed pistachios and breadcrumbs, lightly fried or air-fried until golden, then drizzled with honey and topped with bright cranberry. Perfect for Christmas, parties, or a diet-conscious indulgence (you can bake or air-fry instead of deep-fry!).

Time

Prep: 10 minutes

Cook: 6–8 minutes

Total: ~15 minutes

🥘 Ingredients

Brie & Coating

1 small wheel of brie (5–6 oz) or brie wedges

½ cup pistachios, finely crushed

½ cup panko breadcrumbs

1 egg, beaten

2 tbsp flour (for dusting)

Pinch salt & pepper

Olive oil spray OR 2–3 tbsp oil for shallow frying

Topping

2–3 tbsp honey

3 tbsp cranberry sauce (homemade or store-bought)

Optional: fresh thyme, crushed pistachios, lemon zest

🧑‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep the Brie

Freeze the brie for 20 minutes (this helps it keep shape while frying).

Pat dry.

2. Make the Coating

In a bowl mix:

crushed pistachios

panko

pinch of salt & pepper

Set aside.

3. Bread the Brie

1. Lightly dust brie with flour.

2. Dip into beaten egg.

3. Press into pistachio–panko mixture until fully coated.

4. For extra crunch: repeat egg → pistachio coating one more time.

4. Cook the Brie

Air Fryer (healthiest option)

Spray brie generously with olive oil spray.

Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 6–8 minutes, flipping once, until golden.

Pan-Fry (quick & crispy)

Heat 2–3 tbsp oil in a small skillet over medium heat.

Cook brie 2–3 minutes each side until golden and crisp.

Remove and pat off excess oil.

Bake (light version)

Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes until bubbling and crisp.

5. Serve

Place warm brie on a plate and top with:

honey drizzle

cranberry sauce

sprinkle of pistachios

thyme sprigs or lemon zest (optional but amazing)

Serve with:

toasted baguette

crackers

sliced apples or pears

warm pita chips

💡 Tips

Pistachios bring Mediterranean flavor + healthy fats.

Freezing the brie prevents it from melting too fast.

Add a pinch of cinnamon to cranberry for holiday flavor.

Use light brie for a lower-calorie version.

For spicy lovers: drizzle a tiny bit of hot honey (optional).
