Ingredients
For the Blueberry Brie:
1 wheel (8 oz) Brie cheese
½ cup fresh blueberries (or frozen, thawed)
2 tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp lemon juice
¼ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
¼ tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)
For the Jalapeno Poppers:
6–8 fresh jalapenos
4 oz cream cheese, softened
¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 garlic clove, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
6–8 slices of bacon (optional, can omit for vegetarian version)
Toothpicks for assembly
Optional Garnish:
Fresh mint or basil leaves
Extra blueberries
Instructions
1. Prepare the Blueberry Brie:
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Place the Brie wheel on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
3. In a small saucepan, combine blueberries, honey, lemon juice, cinnamon, and chili flakes. Cook over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until the blueberries soften and create a jam-like consistency.
4. Spoon the warm blueberry mixture over the top of the Brie wheel.
5. Bake for 10–12 minutes until the Brie is soft and melts. Remove and set aside.
2. Prepare the Jalapeno Poppers:
1. Cut jalapenos in half lengthwise and remove seeds (leave some seeds if you like extra heat).
2. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, shredded cheddar, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
3. Stuff each jalapeno half with the cheese mixture.
4. Wrap each jalapeno with a half slice of bacon (if using) and secure with a toothpick.
5. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is bubbly.
3. Assemble and Serve:
Place the baked Brie in the center of a serving platter.
Arrange the jalapeno poppers around the Brie.
Garnish with extra blueberries or fresh herbs if desired.
Serve warm with crackers, sliced baguette, or tortilla chips.
Tips:
For a vegetarian version, skip the bacon and sprinkle a little smoked paprika on top for added flavor.
You can prepare the blueberry topping a day ahead to save time.
Jalapenos can be substituted with mini sweet peppers for a milder version.
