Ingredients

For the Crispy Halloumi

8 oz (225g) halloumi cheese, cut into bite-sized cubes

½ cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp paprika

Olive oil spray or 3 tbsp olive oil (for frying/air frying)

For the Chili Honey Drizzle

3 tbsp honey

½–1 tsp red chili flakes

1 tsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice

Instructions

1. Prep the Halloumi

Pat halloumi dry with paper towels.

Cut into cubes or small sticks.

2. Coat the Cheese

Place flour in one bowl, eggs in another, and breadcrumbs mixed with garlic powder & paprika in a third.

Dip halloumi: flour → egg → breadcrumbs, coating evenly.

3. Cook Until Crispy

Pan-Fry: Heat olive oil in skillet, fry halloumi cubes 1–2 minutes per side until golden and crispy.

Air Fryer: Spray with olive oil and air fry at 390°F (200°C) for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway.

4. Make Chili Honey

In a small pan, warm honey with chili flakes and vinegar/lemon juice for 1–2 minutes (do not boil).

Drizzle over hot halloumi bites.

5. Serve

Sprinkle with fresh parsley or sesame seeds if desired.

Serve immediately while hot and crispy.

Notes & Tips

Best eaten right away – halloumi gets chewy as it cools.

For milder flavor, reduce chili flakes or mix honey with smoked paprika instead.

Pair with a yogurt dip (Greek yogurt + lemon + dill) for balance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Can I make them ahead?

Q: Can I make it gluten-free?
A: Yes, just use gluten-free breadcrumbs or crushed rice crackers.
