Air Fryer Quesadillas

Air Fryer Quesadillas

Use this recipe to learn how to make Air Fryer Quesadillas that are hot and crispy. Delicious interiors with gooey, stretchy cheese are ideal for eating on their own or dipped in salsa or guacamole.

Air fryer-made quesadillas that are hot and crispy and with ooey-gooey cheese that take less than 4 minutes to prepare!

Ingredients:

  1. Two tortillas made with flour  see notes below
  2. ½ cup your preferred cheese. We enjoy Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses.
  3. 1/4 cup of refried beans
  4. Serve with optional sides like
  • guacamole
  • sour cream or plain Greek yoghurt
  • pico de gallo
  • red salsa, green salsa,
  • beans,
  • chopped tomatoes,
  • cilantro,
  • limes.

DIRECTIONS

  1. Cook the tortillas first if using them raw. Heat up the air fryer to 400°F. Spread a tortilla out on a surface and spread cheese over half of it. Add a layer of beans and then additional cheese on top. As an alternative, spread cheese on one side of the beans. We enjoy the flavour that the cheese-encased beans have. Close the tortilla.
  2. Once 45 seconds have passed, open the air fryer. Most likely, the tortilla’s top layer will be rolled up. Reflatten and place it atop the remaining tortilla, then turn it over. Savour after one more minute of cooking! To attain the required level of crispiness, flip the food once more and cook for an additional one to two minutes.

Notes:

  • For up to two days, keep in the refrigerator in an airtight container. Reheat in the air fryer at 400°F, turning once every minute to get the right amount of crispiness and meltiness.
  • These are freezer-safe. Follow the aforementioned instructions to thaw in the fridge and then reheat in the air fryer.

  • For testing purposes, we even used tostadas instead of tortillas when making these quesadillas! All of our taste testers agreed that uncooked tortillas were the best option when it came to tortillas throughout testing. Out of all the changes, it had the most impact on flavour.
  • Close the tortilla within 45 seconds, or otherwise you will have an open tortilla with crusty cheese on one side that you will not be able to close.
