Creamy Spinach Recipe
Ingredients:
1 tbsp or olive oil
3–4 garlic cloves, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
500g (1 lb) fresh spinach, roughly chopped (or 300g frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
1/2 cup heavy cream (or use half-and-half or coconut cream for a lighter version)
1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (optional but delicious)
Salt and pepper to taste
A pinch of nutmeg (optional, but adds depth)
Red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)
Instructions:
Sauté aromatics:
Heat the butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic (and onion, if using) and sauté until fragrant and translucent (2–3 minutes)
Cook spinach:
Add the spinach in batches if necessary. Cook until wilted (about 2–3 minutes). If using frozen spinach, make sure it’s fully thawed and drained before adding.
Add cream:
Pour in the heavy cream and stir well to combine. Let it simmer for a couple of minutes to thicken slightly.
Season:
Stir in parmesan cheese, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Adjust to taste. If using red pepper flakes, add them here.
Simmer:
Cook for another 2–3 minutes until creamy and heated through.
Serve:
Serve warm as a side dish with chicken, steak, or fish — or spoon it over toast, baked potatoes, or
