🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 cup (225g) butter, melted
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the crispy topping:

  • 2–3 tbsp sugar (for sprinkling on top)

1. Prepare

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  2. Grease or line an 8×8 or 9×9 baking pan

2. Make the batter

  1. In a bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar
  2. Add eggs and vanilla, mix well
  3. Stir in milk
  4. In another bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt
  5. Gradually combine dry ingredients into wet mixture until smooth

3. Bake

  1. Pour batter into the pan
  2. Sprinkle sugar evenly on top (this creates that crispy crust ✨)
  3. Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden on top and set in the center

4. Cool & cut

  1. Let it cool slightly
  2. Cut into squares
  3. Serve warm or at room temperature
