Ingredients

12 oz (340 g) spaghetti, linguine, or fettuccine

3 tbsp olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

Zest of 1 large lemon

Juice of 1 large lemon

½ cup reserved pasta water

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

Salt & black pepper, to taste

Instructions

Cook the Pasta

Boil pasta in salted water until al dente. Reserve ½ cup pasta water, then drain.

Make the Sauce

In a large skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium heat.

Add garlic and saute for 1 minute until fragrant (don’t brown).

Stir in lemon zest and juice.

Combine Pasta & Sauce

Add cooked pasta to the skillet along with reserved pasta water.

Toss to coat until silky.

Finish with Cheese & Herbs

Remove from heat, stir in Parmesan, parsley, and basil.

Season with salt and black pepper.

Serve

Garnish with extra Parmesan, fresh herbs, and a drizzle of olive oil.
