Honey Garlic Chicken Recipe
Ingredients:
1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts (cut into bite-sized pieces)
Salt & pepper to taste
2 tablespoons cornstarch (optional for crispier chicken)
2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or olive oil)
For the Honey Garlic Sauce:
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
1 tablespoon rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
1 tablespoon water
1 teaspoon cornstarch (for thickening)
Instructions:
Prepare the Chicken:
Season chicken with salt and pepper.
(Optional) Toss with 2 tbsp cornstarch for a crispier texture.
Cook the Chicken:
Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
Cook chicken pieces until golden and cooked through (about 5–7 minutes). Remove from pan and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
In the same pan, reduce heat to medium.
Add minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
Stir in honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Bring to a simmer.
Thicken the Sauce:
Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water. Add to the sauce.
Simmer until thickened (1–2 minutes).
Combine:
Return chicken to the pan and toss in the sauce until coated and heated through.
Serving Ideas:
Serve over steamed rice, noodles, or stir-fried veggies.
