600 g potatoes, thinly sliced

300–350 g sausages (chicken, beef, or turkey), sliced

1 medium onion, thinly sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp olive oil

Cream Sauce

1 cup fresh cream

½ cup milk

Salt, to taste

Black pepper, to taste

½ tsp paprika

½ tsp dried thyme or oregano

Topping

¾–1 cup grated cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or Gruyere)

Optional: breadcrumbs for extra crunch

Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

1. Preheat Oven

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).

Grease a baking dish lightly.

2. Cook the Sausage Base

Heat oil  in a pan over medium heat.

Add sausage slices; brown 4–5 minutes.

Add onion; cook 3 minutes until soft.

Add garlic; cook 30 seconds. Remove from heat.

3. Make the Cream Sauce

In a bowl, whisk cream, milk, salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs.

4. Assemble

Layer half the potatoes in the baking dish.

Top with half the sausage mixture.

Pour over some cream sauce.

Repeat layers.

Finish with cheese (and breadcrumbs if using).

5. Bake

Cover loosely with foil and bake 30 minutes.

Remove foil and bake 20–25 minutes until golden and potatoes are fork-tender.

6. Rest & Serve

Let rest 5–10 minutes before serving.

Garnish with parsley.
