Syn Free Irish Beef Stew Recipe

There is nothing quite as comforting as a delicious bowl of Syn Free Irish Beef Stew with simple ingredients that never compromise on flavour. 

PREP TIME: 15 minutes

COOK TIME: 2 hours 10 minutes

TOTAL TIME: 2 hours 25 minutes

INSTRUCTIONS:

Stove Top

  1. Spray a deep pot over a medium high heat with some spray oil, add the stewing beef and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown the beef until slightly golden on the edges (do it batches, you don’t want to overcrowd or the meat will not brown). Remove and set aside.
  3. Add the onion, celery and carrots, and a little stock to prevent any sticking if needed and fry until onion, is translucent.
  4. Add back in the beef, swede, potatoes, rosemary, thyme, vinegar, vegetable and beef stock.
  5. Bring to a boil and then cover and simmer for 2 hours.
  6. Season as need with salt and black pepper.
  7. Enjoy!!

Instant Pot

  1. Set instant pot to saute mode, spray with some spray oil and add the stewing beef and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Brown the beef until slightly golden on the edges(do it batches, you don’t want to overcrowd or the meat will not brown). Remove and set aside.
  3. Add the onion, celery and carrots, and a little stock to prevent any sticking if needed and fry until onion, is translucent.
  4. Add back in the beef, swede, potatoes, rosemary, thyme, vinegar, vegetable and beef stock.
  5. Add lid, close valve, and set to 35 minutes high pressure.
  6. Let pressure release naturally once it beeps.
  7. Season as needed with salt and black pepper.
  8. Enjoy!!
