Ingredients For Air Fryer Cheese Scones:
- One cup of all-purpose flour, or all-purpose flour without gluten
- Two tsp baking powder
- Two cups of cheddar cheese, shredded
- Half a cup of milk
- One tsp of kosher salt
- Half a teaspoon of spice from Italy
- Half a teaspoon of chives
- Half a teaspoon of powdered garlic
Instructions For Air Fryer Cheese Scones:
- Place all of the dry ingredients in a large mixing basin and thoroughly combine. Pour the milk slowly and stir thoroughly.
- When the cheese is well mixed into the dough, add the shredded cheese and knead it in. Work the dough with your hands.
- Roll out the dough into a circle and pat it thin, about ½ inch thick. Gently cut the dough into wedges and carefully place them into the air fryer’s greased basket. (See note below; using parchment paper is not recommended; an oil-coated air fryer basket is).
- Cook for 15 minutes at 350°F in the air fryer, or until the scones are thoroughly cooked.
Notes on How to Store, Freeze, and Reheat Cheese Scones (Air Fryer):
- Room Temperature: Once the scones have fully cooled down, store them at room temperature in an airtight resealable plastic bag or container. It’s preferable to eat them within a day or two.
Refrigerator: The scones can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week in an airtight container if you want to prolong their freshness. But with time, refrigeration may cause them to become a little drier.
Freezing: To freeze baked scones, cool them fully before putting them in a single layer on a baking sheet and freezing for approximately one hour, or until they solidify. - Spoon the frozen scones into an airtight container or zip-top freezer bag; line the container with parchment paper between layers to keep them from sticking.
- Put the contents and date on the label. You can freeze the scones for up to three months.
Freezing Scones Without Baking:
- Unbaked scone dough can also be frozen for later use in baking scones. Scones should be shaped, then put on a baking pan and frozen until solid. After that, put in a container or zip-top freezer bag.
- You may cook them straight from frozen in the air fryer when it’s time to bake them, just give it a few additional minutes.
- Reheating: From the refrigerator or room temperature:
- Set the air fryer to 150°C/300°F.
- Scone layer should be placed in the air fryer basket.
- Reheat for three to four minutes, or until well heated.
- From Freezer: Heat the air fryer for five to seven minutes at 300°F (150°C) in order to bake scones.
- You may cook unbaked frozen scones at the same temperature as the recipe calls for, just give them a few more minutes to cook through.
- Whether you’ve made cheese scones ahead of time or are savouring leftovers, you can always savour the flavour of fresh baked goods with these storage, freezing, and warming guidelines. They go well with meals or as quick breakfasts or snacks.
